My thrifting journey has started out really fun. I went to a place that I had never been before and found some really great things. I can’t wait to share it with you all and if you visit Rachel’s Hope let me know and I can celebrate with you!
Rachel’s Hope is a boutique styled second hand shop that hand picks through the donated clothes, finds the highest quality items, and donates the rest to other resale shops. All proceeds go to Next Step Women’s Center “… To provide medical, educational, and individualized care that equips women and their partners to make informed decisions about their pregnancy and sexual health.” (via pregnancyaid.org).
I was impressed with how organized and clean their store was. I have been into some boutique styled second hand shops and their prices can be quite high for their “gently used” items. At Rachel’s Hope, they don’t pick out the name brands, hold them behind the register, and charge $40 for a battered coach purse. The prices were incredible, the quality was a good, and the atmosphere was light hearted and fun. I will definitely be heading back next time I am in Burleson, TX.
What I Got:
Jacket- Calvin Klein, mint condition, denim jacket for… wait for it… SIX DOLLARS (dramatic pause)! and to be honest even though everything in the store is so affordable, if I didn’t watch myself I could have easily left there spending over $50 with more that ten items, but I didn’t so I gave myself a pat on my back.
Scarf- This beautiful scarf was only $1.50 and came in great condition! No stains or permanent marks! I feel like it really pulled this outfit together.
Earings- Wow I am so in love with these earings! I can dress them up and down. Such a timeless selection and only $2.
Their Best section:
The best section at Rachel’s Hope were the jackets for sure! This is hard to come by in a resale shop because most thrift stores jackets aren’t the best quality and if you go to a boutique type resale shop they are expensive. The fact that there were honest, good, nice jackets (professional and casual) at an amazing price was really refreshing.
